Last week a group of students from the Manaiakalani Education Trust cluster of schools marked the end of their school holidays with a week-long Summer Code Camp, sponsored by the Innovation Partnership and N4L. 30 students spent the week learning to code, by writing their very own computer games!

Summer Code Camp is a new initiative which aims to to support and promote the importance of learning to code for students who will be graduating to work in a digital economy. We are proud to have been involved and hope to see more of these type of events all around the country in the future!

N4L CEO John Hanna, who was lucky enough to visit the students on Friday morning with Associate Education Minister Nikki Kaye, says: “The appetite and enthusiasm to learn new digital skills is insatiable among our young people, and it is exciting to be part of this programme both as a sponsor and an organisation which works so closely with schools to help digitally empower their teaching and learning. The vibe in the room is amazing.”
