Marnie’s story

I’ve always loved working in education. I actually started out as a teacher, retrained as a counsellor, and through that journey, I’ve found my way to N4L. I don’t have a technical background, but I do have a lot of experience in working with people. Particularly students and what they need and what they’re going through. Growing up in Sweden, I fell in love with a Kiwi, and here I am, living in New Zealand nearly 20 years later. My journey to N4L actually started out in project management, and since joining, I’ve discovered a real passion for working for an organisation that has a purpose to make a difference to the lives of our kaiako and ākonga. My love for technology came from a young age and feeling totally entranced by computers and what they could do, particularly in how they helped me learn.
