Where did you grow up?
I’ve always been a South Islander, having grown up in Otautahi, Christchurch.
What brings you joy outside of work?
My family, friends and my dog bring me a lot of happiness. My 1-year-old Rottweiler, Doug, is a definite handful which is undoubtedly an excellent fitness plan but deep down is a bit of a teddy bear. My home also often resembles a greenhouse, filled with indoor plants that I love taking care of.
How did you end up working in this role?
Tech has always been an interest; my previous role was Team Leader at an ICT Company. I originally took this role as a temporary associate; since then, I have progressed into a permanent School Relationship Manager and have never wanted to leave. N4L is a great company to work for, with a fantastic team.
What appealed to you about the role?
Engaging with people, educating them about and supporting them in using N4L’s products stood out to me. My sister is also a school Principal, and I have seen the work and passion that goes into those roles so being able to support them and take some of the load off is invaluable.
Tell us about your role.
A big part of my job is educating schools on what is on offer to them. It’s really important to me that we show them we actually care. Day-to-day it’s all about in-person meetings with the school Principal or IT Lead and maintaining strong relationships so they know where to turn if they need help. We also get to hear valuable feedback in these meetings which I can bring back to the company so other teams know how they are going and what more we can be doing to serve schools better.
What feeds your passion within your role?
Knowing we are offering a great product to schools is a great feeling. Some schools wouldn’t be able to afford this access and level of protection otherwise, so allowing equal access to learning online and promoting equity is very rewarding.
What does it mean for you personally in the work N4L delivers?
It’s a privilege to be an outside face and voice for N4L, educating others on what we offer schools. I will always be proud to talk about what we do for students and where we’re going.
Tell us about a highlight or stand out story in your role as a School Relationship Manager.
I am really motivated to build strong partnerships with our schools, working closely with them to build trust and confidence that we’re there to help. Hearing from these principals about how great N4L is, is an amazing feeling and shows that the hard work is worth it.
What do you hope to achieve in the future of schools and kura?
I am working hard to make sure all schools understand our offerings well and that they know they can lean on N4L for support. My priority is making sure they know that if they need me, I am always available to help them.
