October 8th-10th is ULearn 2014 and this year sees NZ’s biggest ed-tech conference rolling into Rotorua. N4L will be there, joining over 1500 delegates who will be attending three days of professional learning and development. There will be dozens of presentations, keynotes of the highest quality and a wide range of ed-tech vendors in the exhibitors area.

Both Tims from N4L’s Interim Advisory Service will be there, so stop by and see us at the N4L stand. We will be available from Wednesday through until Friday and are there to help with any requests or questions that you might have. We can discuss the Pond environment, BYOD considerations, technical queries about the N4L network, or in fact anything to do with how your school can best utilise your N4L connection.

To ensure the Advisory Team can help you most effectively, please bring as many details as possible about the current state of your school’s network and IT capabilities. More importantly, have a think and consider the state of the people and the students in your school. How, when and why are they using the N4L network in their classrooms and roles? How can the advisory team help them do their jobs better?

Of course if your school is still waiting to be connected to the N4L network, but you are keen to know when, several of the N4L Client Managers will be on the stand to help discuss connection issues and timelines.

As well as being available in the exhibitors area, N4L staff will be presenting a range of workshops and presentations throughout ULearn on both Pond and the Managed Network.  To register for one of these sessions, head over to the ULearn website and enter your details. http://events.core-ed.org/ulearn

Tim Harper, is presenting a technical session at 11:15am October 8 during Breakout One A. He will be sharing with Trevor Storr (Waimate High School) about ways to fine-tune your N4L web content filtering experience.  If you’re technically minded, it’ll be a cracker.
