Update 7/10 9am: Our team are continuing to work on the issue we’re seeing and we’ll continue to provide updates as we have them.
Update 10.45: Our investigation has narrowed the issue down to a periodic, intermittent failure of the DNS function we provide to schools.
While we haven’t seen a recurrence of this issue today, we’re continuing to work with our service providers to identify the root cause and are ready to capture logs and other relevant information should DNS fail again.
Please note that while this DNS failure impacts internet connectivity, it’s still blocking access to malicious websites as per normal.
Update 9/10 12pm: We’re continuing to monitor the situation and haven’t experienced a recurrence of the issue since Monday 6 October. Our investigation into the root cause is also ongoing.
Update 10/10 3pm: As we haven’t experienced a recurrence of the issue since Monday 6 October, we’re closing this incident.
While the incident has passed, we haven’t yet identified the root cause. We’re continuing to investigate and work closely with our service providers as a matter of priority.
