Do you provide content and services to New Zealand’s teaching community?

If yes, then you need to check out the N4L portal, which is now open to “providers” wanting to showcase their offerings to the people who may be keen to use them.

We are doing this so that when educators log into the portal from next month, they will be able to easily find the resources they need for teaching and learning. They will also be able to discover “provider profiles,” view examples of how their peers have been using their services, and share their experiences of using them.

53 “Providers Profiles” already on the portal, more to come

Fifty three organisations have already created profiles on the N4L portal since it moved out of a testing environment at the end of last year, including educational video service  eTV, Google apps specialist Hapara, NZ On Screen and New Zealand Geographic.

More than 185 “provider organisations” have registered their interest in N4L since August 2013, when the company started building its managed network for schools.

Providers can register and profile their services at portal.n4l.co.nz. Once logged into the portal, they can see how other providers have listed their content, read how to create a user profile, submit feedback, and view a list of frequently asked questions.

Gresham Bradley, General Manager of eTV, registered the organisation’s services on the N4L portal earlier this year and says he is looking forward to the opportunity to get closer to New Zealand’s teaching community:

“We are really looking forward to interacting with the feedback teachers post on our N4L Provider page, as this will allow us to respond and ensure our services are continuing to meet teachers’ needs in the classroom.”

Later this month N4L will progressively invite educators from around the country to register as authenticated users and start exploring its tools and features, incorporating their feedback and fine-tuning functionality before opening the portal to all teachers later in the year.

The N4L portal is free for all providers until July 2014.
