We’d like to provide you with an important update on the network equipment we provide for several programmes of work.

Global stock shortages and supply chain issues resulting from COVID-19 have made it difficult to secure this equipment. This means N4L, along with the Ministry of Education, has reviewed how we use the available stock, with a focus on ensuring school networks continue to operate and we’re allocating stock as such.

As a result, there will be delays to our Equipment Replacement schedule and changes to how we supply equipment under Capital Works and equipment only sales.

  • Equipment Replacement – While there are delays to the install schedule, we’re still proceeding with ATPs, Network Designs and Order Forms. It’s important we still complete these steps for the relevant schools to ensure we’re ready to replace their equipment as soon as more stock arrives.
  • Capital Works & equipment only orders – We’re working closely with the Ministry and Netbridge to supply equipment for these programmes and some schools may receive refurbished, second-hand equipment through the Store and Forward service. As such, the Ministry is now the first point of contact for all Capital Works and equipment only order enquiries – please email them at networkupgrades@education.govt.nz.

We’re contacting any schools directly impacted by these shortages. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

We’ll keep you updated on our progress with securing more stock. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us on 0800 LEARNING.
