AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 16 December 2022

Network for Learning (N4L) has released its 2022 Annual Report, which sees the Crown-owned company celebrating its 10-year anniversary and another year providing outstanding customer support to schools during a period of rapid growth.

N4L’s excellence in customer support was recently recognised, winning the awards of Best Broadband Provider and Best Customer Service – Broadband at the 2022 NZ Compare Awards – Broadband, Energy & Mobile Awards.

N4L connects, protects and supports more than 2,460 state and state-integrated schools and kura across the country, enabling more than 900,000 tumuaki, kaiako and ākonga to enjoy safer, more secure internet. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, N4L’s Managed Network services provides fast and reliable internet, while helping to keep students protected from cybersecurity threats and harmful digital content.

In 2022, N4L’s annual customer service survey revealed 94% of schools and kura are satisfied with its service. Since the launch of the organisation in 2012, N4L’s customer satisfaction score has never fallen below 90%. N4L has also reported that its Customer Support Team fielded nearly 44,000 support cases in 2021/22. These numbers demonstrate the provision of excellent customer service and outstanding support to schools and kura at the times they need it most.

Meanwhile, N4L grew rapidly from 114 staff and contractors to 168, fuelled by the company’s broadening remit, providing more products and expanded customer service to schools and kura. This includes its Email Protection product, as well as cybersecurity services including network monitoring, threat and vulnerability identification and a new Security Operations Centre.

Network for Learning CEO, Larrie Moore, says: “In 2021/22, as COVID-19 further accelerated the shift to greater reliability on online learning, N4L’s services became more important than ever before. N4L is proud to connect, protect and support schools and kura across Aotearoa New Zealand. The services we provide help alleviate some of the pressures on schools of maintaining their technology infrastructure and allowing busy teaching staff to focus on education.”
