A new strain of ransomware called NotPetya is affecting computers that have not updated their Windows operating software with a patch called “MS17-010”.  To protect your computer systems from being impacted, it is important to make sure that you have installed all Microsoft software updates, especially MS17-010.

If you think your computer systems have been affected by NotPetya, please contact CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team), the lead government agency monitoring the situation and providing advice on cyber security threats. We expect the CERT website to updated shortly with new information.

If you have any further questions, please contact your ICT provider or the N4L Helpdesk on 0800 LEARNING.

We are working with our technology, education and government partners to help schools keep their online environments protected.
